Improvisation

1 - 8 Nov 2008

Improvisation cover imageImprovisation was Luba Dalcolmo’s first exhibition at Schwetzingen Palace. Situated in the West wing of the historic summer palace, it displayed both older and newer works by the artist.

The theme of Improvisation was the importance of remembering the impulse that drives painting. For Dalcolmo, improvisation is the key approach to creating her paintings based on emotions she experiences. Apart from its improvisational aspect, the exhibited paintings also suggested the theme of melancholy and the coming of winter especially in Dalcolmo’s painting Winter.
