Night & Day was the first online exhibition curated by Luba Dalcolmo on her official website. The shift of circumstances during the Covid-19 lockdown had become a catalyst for a creative response to the uncertain times during those months. The theme of the exhibition was the action of counting the days during self-isolation as something that is done subconsciously.
The series of 36 collages by the artist served as an expression of the new status-quo. Each collage was comprised of mixed media on canvas and represents either a day or a night that has passed. The relationship to poetry also played a key role. The series derived some of its inspiration from the sonnets of William Shakespeare that touched on the themes of day, night and the passing of time.
